Meira Moon Collective began as a photography studio in Sidney, Nebraska, founded by two friends, Jenn and McKailie. We opened our doors with a shared passion for capturing life's most cherished moments. Shortly after launching the studio, life took an unexpected turn—both of us became pregnant.

Tragically, our journeys shifted when Jenn experienced pregnancy loss. Just a few weeks later, McKailie endured her own loss. In our shared grief, we couldn’t help but feel there was a bigger reason behind our experiences. We pressed on, continuing Meira Moon as a photography studio throughout 2023, leaning on each other as we navigated the complexities of loss and healing. Later that year, our stories intertwined once again—we both became pregnant a second time, just a few months apart.

As the winter months slowed photography, we found ourselves reflecting on what more our space could become. During one of our brainstorming sessions, Jenn asked, “What if we serve mothers?” It was a question that sparked a deep conversation. McKailie wondered what that could even look like and where her place in it would be. But the calling felt undeniable—a longing to create something more than just a studio, to offer a space where mothers could come together in support, love, and community.

Mothers used to raise their children within a village, surrounded by support, wisdom, and shared experiences. But in today’s world, so many mothers are doing it alone. We wanted to change that. After months of dreaming and planning, Meira Moon Collective was reborn—not just as a photography studio, but as a motherhood group dedicated to building a village of support, connection, and empowerment.

Now, we are taking the next step in our journey. We are moving to a new space designed to meet the needs of our growing community. This new home will offer a dedicated area for mothers to gather, connect, and support one another, alongside a beautiful studio space where we can continue capturing the bond between mothers and their children.
